7:30 pm Selichot Service led by our guest, Rabbi Alan Maller*
Welcome with refreshments, Havdalah and Contemplative Selichot Service- “Prayers for Forgiveness”
We can make our next year better than our last year by preparing mentally and spiritually through a special introspective service called Selichot, which is held on the Saturday evening just before Rosh Hashanah. For this service, self-evaluation and self-improvement meditations are held for those who seek to enhance their relationships with God and other people, and to reflect on the past year, focusing on the improvements they wish to make in the upcoming year.
We will start with a short welcome-back to those we haven’t seen in a while, hello to our newcomers and the introduction of Rabbi Allen Maller, whose daughter has recently moved to Durango.
This will be the first Selichot service ever held at Congregation Har Shalom!
We welcome you back to our synagogue – in-person or via Zoom – as we celebrate the New Year through prayer, music, and Shofar! Wake up to the sound, wake up to change, look back, start fresh, open our hearts, and draw closer to Hashem!
