Conscious Community

Every Thursday from 5:30-7:00 pm

The Conscious Community (CC) group was created with two goals:
To support full participation in the religious programs of Congregation Har Shalom and to explore and practice the more mystical aspects of traditional Judaism.
Over the years, the CC group has studied and practiced many aspects of Judaism. Currently, we are focused on Jewish meditation and the support of the individual group member's Jewish spiritual path. Our group is open to any member of CHS. We welcome visitors.

The name "Conscious Community" is the title of the book written by Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira, the Chief Rabbi of the Warsaw ghetto, who died in the Holocaust. He was a teacher, who organized groups throughout Poland, to deepen the Jewish experience. "Our goal is to be thoroughly devoted to God with our entire being...." The only requirement for membership is to read Rabbi Shapira's book "Conscious Community" to be aware of the spiritual foundation of the group.
